Challenge
Part of the IMPAR Group, Banco Caboverdiano de Negócios is the first private bank to be 100 per cent Cape Verdean.
Following an in-depth rebranding, BCN and Spotmarket began a 12-month collaboration whose main objectives were to carry out the transition of the entire institutional image and define the bank’s communication and marketing strategy.
Together with the BCN’s marketing and communications department, we were going to prepare and implement an extensive communications plan aimed at all the bank’s stakeholders.
Rebranding and the start of an integrated communication strategy

Branding a financial institution involves demanding design work, as there are various graphic materials, both print and digital.
Focussing on repositioning the brand and culminating in an extensive institutional campaign, we designed and adapted all the materials with the new graphic identity, from stationery to billboards, posters, outdoor displays, agency decoration and uniforms, among many others.
Content Creation
Responsible for the strategy, planning and creation of all communication content, Spotmarket developed all the content to be used on social networks, newsletters and in the press over the course of a year.
One of the main planning and content creation projects focused on the institutional campaign with the slogan ‘As mãos unem’ (Hands unite), which would mark the repositioning of the brand in the market and involved various media channels, such as social networks, magazines, newspapers and TV.
Digital Experience
The project to develop the BCN website began some time after the start of our collaboration. Having achieved the goal of defining the branding, we then began to analyse the website (which was already in a state of development) and began to study and define, at UX/UI level, what the new BCN website would be.
After defining the structure and graphic layout, we developed all the components of the website as well as ensuring the necessary integrations for its operation.
The last phase involved placing and revising all the content on the website.

Growth and Performance
Throughout the period of collaboration, the BCN’s objectives in terms of performance were mainly reach and traffic.
Paid advertising was concentrated on Facebook and Instagram, the networks with the highest penetration rates in Cape Verde. In addition, we reactivated and developed the email marketing area with the introduction of fixed frequency newsletters, both to publicise products and services and to increase customer engagement with the brand.
